The Last Relapse, LLC, a Florida limited liability company ("The Last Relapse," "TLR," "we," "us," or "our"), respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, store, and safeguard information when you use The Last Relapse mobile application and related services (the "App").
By using the App, you agree to the practices described here. This Policy should be read together with our Terms & Conditions and Subscription Terms.
The Last Relapse is a non-medical, educational, self-help application designed to assist users with personal habit awareness and self-regulation related to reducing pornography consumption. The App is not a healthcare service, medical device, therapy platform, counseling service, or treatment program, and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
The App does not create, receive, maintain, or transmit Protected Health Information (PHI) under HIPAA, and is not a "Part 2 Program" under 42 CFR Part 2. Information you enter is voluntarily provided by you for personal habit-tracking purposes. No doctor–patient or therapist–client relationship is created through the App.
We collect only what is needed to operate the App's features. You are never required to provide your real name to use the App, and community participation happens under an anonymous handle.
Account information: email address, password (stored in hashed form by our authentication provider), account creation and sign-in dates, and — if you choose to provide it during setup — a gender selection used to personalize App copy.
Habit-tracking and behavioral entries (voluntary): daily check-in responses, urge and slip logs (including optional context such as time, location category, and body sensations you select), tool and practice sessions, lesson progress and written reflections, goals, and similar entries you choose to make. These are used solely to power your in-App tracking, insights, scores, and progression.
AI Coach conversations: messages you send to the in-App AI coach, which are stored so your conversation history can be restored across devices.
Community content: your chosen anonymous handle, selected avatar (a color and icon — not a photo), posts, replies, votes, and reports you submit. Community content is visible to other signed-in users of the App.
Preferences: notification settings, language, and similar App preferences.
Device and technical data: a push-notification device token (if you enable notifications), your device timezone (used to deliver scheduled notifications at appropriate local times), App language, and basic technical logs generated when the App communicates with our servers (such as timestamps and security-relevant events like sign-in attempts).
Product analytics: We use PostHog to collect anonymous, in-App product-usage events (for example, when the App is opened, which onboarding steps and features you use, and whether you complete onboarding or subscription steps) to understand how the App is used and improve it. These events are tied only to an anonymous account identifier — never your email, name, or the content of your check-ins, urge or slip logs, reflections, or AI Coach conversations. Automatic click tracking is disabled, and personal free-text entries are filtered out before events are sent.
Session analytics (screen recording): To understand how people navigate the App and to find and fix usability problems, we use PostHog session recording, which captures how you move through the App — the screens you visit, the order you visit them in, taps, and where you may get stuck. We apply strict privacy masking to these recordings: all text you type and all text displayed on screen is masked and is not captured in a readable form, and our most sensitive screens — including check-ins, Urge Mode, the AI Coach, slip debriefs, and reflection worksheets — are fully blocked from recording, so their contents never appear in a recording at all. In other words, we may see how the App is used, not what you wrote. You can contact us to request that your session data not be recorded.
Crash and diagnostic data: We use PostHog error tracking to capture crash reports and technical error information (error messages, stack traces, the screen where an error occurred, and device information) so we can detect and fix bugs. These reports capture the technical error only, never the content of your entries, messages, or logs.
All of the above is processed on our behalf by PostHog on servers in the United States (PostHog US Cloud). See PostHog's privacy policy at posthog.com/privacy for more information.
We do not use third-party advertising SDKs and we do not sell your data.
If you choose to enable the optional content blocker, the App uses the Android Accessibility Service to detect and block access to websites, apps, and searches you have configured to restrict. This processing — including evaluation of screen content and browser events against your blocklist — happens entirely on your device. The App does not transmit your browsing history, visited URLs, screen contents, or search queries to our servers or to any third party. Only aggregate, non-identifying counters (for example, the total number of block events) may be synced to your account to power your in-App statistics. You can disable the Accessibility Service at any time in your device settings.
We use the information described above to: operate and personalize the App's features (check-ins, insights, scores, progression, community, notifications); generate AI Coach responses and pattern insights; deliver notifications you have enabled, at times appropriate to your timezone and in your selected language; understand how the App is used and improve it through anonymous product analytics; maintain safety and moderate the community; secure the Service, prevent abuse, and enforce our Terms; and comply with legal obligations.
We do not use your data for third-party advertising, and we do not sell or rent personal information.
The App stores your day-to-day data on your device first, and syncs copies of key data (such as check-ins, coach conversation history, progression, and community content) to our cloud backend so your data can be restored if you reinstall or change devices. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS). Cloud data is protected by per-user access controls (row-level security) so that your data is accessible only to your authenticated account and to our systems.
To generate coach responses and pattern insights, relevant content (such as your coach messages and summarized check-in data) is processed by a third-party AI service provider (Google's Gemini API) at the time of your request. This processing is performed to provide the feature you invoked and is subject to the provider's terms. We do not use your conversations to train our own models.
We share information only with:
We never sell personal information.
Subscription payments are processed by Google Play. We do not receive or store your full payment-card details. Payment data is handled by Google under its own privacy policy.
We retain your data while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete Account, which permanently deletes your account and associated data from our systems — including your check-ins, logs, coach history, progression, and community profile and content — and clears App data from your device. Signing out clears your personal data from the device while your cloud account remains available for future sign-in. Limited technical records (such as security logs) may be retained for a reasonable period as required for security and legal compliance.
We employ industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, per-user database access controls, authenticated APIs, rate limiting, and server-side moderation enforcement. No system is perfectly secure; you use the App at your own risk and should protect your account credentials.
The App is not directed to anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 16, we will delete it. Users under 18 should use the App with the knowledge and supervision of a parent or guardian where required by law. If you believe a child under 16 has provided us information, contact us at the address below.
The App is operated from the United States and data is processed on servers located in the United States. If you use the App from outside the U.S., you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in the U.S.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. The App provides these directly: you can view and edit your data in the App, export your data where the feature is offered, and delete your account entirely in Settings. For any other request, contact us and we will respond as required by applicable law. You can disable notifications in the App or in your device settings, and disable the content blocker in your device's Accessibility settings, at any time.
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the App or by other reasonable means, and the "Last Updated" date will be revised.
